Growth and Organization
In 1990, major reorganisation began of the Pontecchio facility, standing on an area of 80,000m2, 32,000m2 of which are covered. Substantial investments were made to upgrade productivity and quality standards.
Numerous welding robots were installed, along with modern handling systems, a new fully-automatic powder coating system and numeric control machines for component production.
In 1997, the new Ostellato facility was built on an area of 60,000m2, 9,800m2 of which covered, and extended to 18,000m2 in 2006. This manufacturing facility has been equipped with all the very latest automated production equipment: laser-cutting machines with automatic metal sheet loading and unloading systems, welding robots, numeric control machines of various kinds and for various stages of the production process.
Over the years, investments totalling 5% of yearly turnover have been made for technological updating: to this must be added investments in research and development which, since 1990, have amounted to 3% of turnover. This is a top-ranking share for the garage equipment industry.
Since 1998 a new unit is operational, for the production of wheel alignment and test lanes. The plant is located in Trana, on the outskirts of Turin, on a 10,000m2 area, 4,500m2 of which are covered.
Recently the production organisation has been increased by a factory in the Reggio
Emilia area, specialised in the design and production of top range tyre changers and accessories for tyre service.
Sales distribution is done through expert and specialised dealers, able to provide a whole range of products and services, from complete design of workshops to the installation of equipment, from after-sales service to periodical maintenance. Special emphasis is given to after-sales. To favour the growth of this service, a special space has been created where free-of-charge courses are staged, in various languages, centred on distributors and their sales and maintenance personnel.
The continuity of relations established with certain distributors favours company goals; with 28 foreign distributors, for example, we continue a working relationship lasting over 20 years, without interruption. ISO9001 certification, obtained in 2000, confirms Rav's ongoing commitment to provide top-quality products and well-organised backing for its customers.
